Dearly loved Dad of Dorothy Ellen and the late John Douglas CHILDHOOD MEMORIES OF MY DEAREST DAD I remember those fluffy blue slippers You brought home for me that day The pen and pencil set And all the postcards you sent When you worked away I remember the pocket money postal orders And the thrill when you came home The day you sprinkled me with the watering can As I played out on the lawn I remember the greetings telegram With its envelope so bright "Happy Birthday Darling. See you Friday night." I remember you checked my homework Spelling,reading and writing every night Your pride in my report cards When I got everything just right I remember telling you all my school news As I sat upon your knee "If anyone every hurts you," you said "just you come to me." I remember we played crazy golf And football on the green All these childhood memories Dad Are still so bright and keen. DOROTHY ELLEN CONNOR
