Losing a lifelong friend like Peter is like losing part of yourself. Peter lit up our lives, his passing leaves a gap that cannot be filled.
I want to pay tribute to Peter, a remarkable man and my lifelong close friend.
I first met Peter just over fifty years ago, he was my late departed dearly beloved brothers Billy's best pal. Peter immediately impressed me with his dry sense of humour and his candid views.
Always clean always smart, a keen footballer and golfer, he could mix with anyone.
Peter generally lived a private life but was always ready with a smile and a listening ear. He touched those who knew him in profound ways, never, ever forgetting friends or families memorable days, his compassion knew no bounds .
Peter had a wonderfully, loving and supportive family none more so than Donna, his niece, who was an absolute rock whenever he needed help, especially in his neediest hours.
To me Peter was more than a friend, a trusted confidant and a steady anchor in the stormiest of seas.
Although Peter is no longer with us his spirit will always stay in our memories and his legacy of loyalty and friendship continue to inspire us all.

I met Perer in my early twenties when my late husband Billy was beaten up . Peter took him to hospital and from that moment , Peter became apart of the family for over 50 years .

Peter was a caring uncle to my girls and never forgot a special occasion.

Over the years, Peter has looked out for me and the girls , especially through the tough times when my husband was in hospital.

He truly was a best friend to both myself and Billy .

He will be sorely missed by all xx

To my lovely Uncle Peter, I still can’t believe you’ve gone. You’ve always been part of my life and always been there for me and our family, so it’s hard to accept that you’ll no longer be in it. We may not have been joined by blood, but you were my Uncle, and nobody will ever tell me different! I’ll miss our chats and how you always took such an interest in mine and Archie’s lives… and I’ll miss your cheeky little laugh too. I hope you and my Dad are having a pint together now, and bickering over the footy! Love and miss you, Pete. Goodnight and God bless.
