Every week we are sending thousands of pounds over to all sorts of charities thanks to your generous donations in memory of loved ones.

Below are just a few of the collections that we have paid out in July.

John Bryce Wilcox

The family of John Bryce Wilcox raised an amazing £2,216 for Cancer Reasearch UK, adding a further £309.22 in Gift Aid.

Cancer Research UK is the most popular charity to be donated to here on funeral-notices.co.uk, where we have helped families raise over £80,000 in 2023 for this one charity alone.

If you want to raise money for two charities, or even three or four, then that’s ok with us. When you decide to raise money in memory of a loved one, we aim to be as flexible as we can in order to support your wishes.

Gordon’s family chose to raise money for both Marie Curie and Herriot Hospice Homecare, and donors were generous enough to raise £1,700 in total across the two charities in his memory.

A massive £2,300 was raised for Diabetes UK by the family and friends of Samuel James Brake, which will be an incredible help to a charity that clearly means a lot. On top of that, another £480.61 was raised in Gift Aid, which is money that I know all charities are so grateful for.

Diabetes UK has invested over £66,000,000 into diabetes research over the last decade alone, thanks to donations like this one and, with your help, they are getting closer to a cure.

Here is an example of someone who wanted to make sure that their money went towards helping people in their local area, as the family of Jean Ann Coupland decided to raise money in her memory for the Scunthorpe branches of Lindsey Lodge Hospice and The Health Tree Foundation. When we come to send the money over to the charity, we will then make it clear where the funds should be directed.

By doing this, Jean’s friends and family raised £505.50 for their local Lindsey Lodge Hospice, and £995.50 for their local Health Tree Foundation.

We have barely scratched the surface of all the incredible generosity that we have seen this month through our charitable donations service, but hopefully this has given you an idea of the little bit of good that we can all do, even after something as heart-breaking as the loss of a loved one.

Thank you.
