March marks the return of Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal, the charity’s biggest annual fundraising campaign. Marie Curie was founded in 1948, and in the last 75 years have supported millions of people who have been affected by terminal illness. 1 in 4 people do not get the end of life care that they need. Marie Curie aims to bring end of life care and support to everyone who needs it. Superdrug are the headline partner for the Great Daffodil Appeal 2024, and will be selling pins and accepting donations throughout the month.

How Can I Take Part in the Great Daffodil Appeal 2024?

  • Sign up to volunteer to help collect donations for Marie Curie
  • Wear a daffodil pin, which can be purchased at Superdrug, from the Marie Curie shop or from a volunteer, to help spread awareness
  • Donate to Marie Curie, either directly on the website or to a volunteer
  • Go Yellow on 21st March - host a yellow themed bake sale or coffee morning, have a “wear yellow” day at work, to raise money for Marie Curie. Resources for events are available on the website
  • Visit the Marie Curie shop and check out the different pins and gifts available - all profits help to support those living with a terminal illness
  • Join in the Day of Reflection on Sunday 3rd March. There will be a minute’s silence to remember those who have passed away, and you can share the name of the person you’re remembering, and plan a reflective event or activity

Why is Fundraising for Marie Curie Important?

Every penny raised for the charity makes a difference. Fundraising helps Marie Curie to provide direct care to people who need it, whether through its own hospices or overnight care in people’s own homes. Money raised also helps to fund the charity’s free support line and webchat, for people who have an illness they’re likely to die from and those close to them.

The Great Daffodil Appeal also helps to raise awareness for the need for a better end of life for all. If you’d like to get involved, whether to make a donation or host your own fundraising event, head to the website for more information: mariecurie.org.uk/daffodil
