If you haven’t had a chance to visit our special Christmas Memorial Wall for 2023, then click here to have a look at the hundreds of tributes that have already come in. We know that grief doesn't just affect you at special occasions, but they can sometimes highlight a person's absence and make it harder, which is why we created the Christmas Memorial Wall as an outlet for people's love and loss over the festive season.

Across the 2021 and 2022 Christmas Memorial Walls, we received over 13,000 tributes from people who are thinking about their loved ones at Christmas time, and so this year we decided to add a charity to our Memorial Wall, to give visitors another way of remembering those they are missing, as well as raising vital funds for a worthy cause.

With one in four people suffering from a mental health condition, and especially at this time of year when it can be extra difficult to cope, we decided to raise money for Mind.

Who are Mind and what do they do?

Mind is known as the mental health charity across England and Wales. They are vocal about making sure mental health is as much of a priority as physical health, and they work with the healthcare services and the lawmakers in order to make positive changes that will make it easier for those of us living with mental health problems.

Mind also puts a huge focus on just listening. Listening to people's real life experiences allows Mind to campaign for changes that will actually make a difference. Being able to share your story is often a great help in itself, and so having Mind there to listen is a real comfort to thousands of people every year.

Why did we choose to support Mind at Christmas?

First of all, there are so many incredible charities we could have chosen to support this year, and we invite you to go and donate to whichever charity is meaningful to you.

We decided to raise money for Mind because mental health has been a big focus on our funeral-notices.co.uk blog over the last few years, and we know first hand how mental health can be affected by the loss of a loved one, especially at Christmas.

Christmas can also be a very lonely time for some people, which can be incredibly detrimental to their mental health. To help you navigate through Christmas with care and consideration, Mind has some helpful tips and resources on their website, which can be found here.

We sincerely hope that you can enjoy this festive season, but if you can’t, for whatever reason, please know that you are not alone.

If you are in need of help, or just someone to lend an ear, then Mind has a variety of resources and contact details available here.
